old fashioned after the kids were in bed.

Nora (and I) attended Mal's 2nd birthday party
this morning.  There was a little something
for the parents too!

Feb 24: white branches

I absolutely love it when the snow clings
to each and every branch during a snowfall.
It's beautiful.

Watching videos on my phone I've
taken of her, Myles, and friends.

Feb 22: ashes

Even though it's nearly impossible to see
in this picture, Myles received his first
ashes at the Ash Wednesday service
this afternoon.  Nora didn't like it on
his forehead or my own.  Luckily, she
couldn't see hers.

Feb 21: buds

I especially like the apron turned
baby carrier that Nora crafted.  Innovative. 

Feb 20: blizzard

This girl has a sweet tooth!  Enjoying a special
Sunday night treat with Daddy - a butterfinger
blizzard and french fries.

Feb 19: hand crafted

Our neighbor, "Papa Joe", made this table and the chairs
for Nora and Myles to enjoy for years to come.
Thank you, Papa!!

Feb 18: friendly competition

We went to Jeff and Katie's today and decided to take a
walk at the park near their place.  We stopped at the
playground so Nora could play and things ended up with
a little friendly competition between husband and wife.
Jeff was bragging that he was swinging higher than Nora
so Katie had to give him an actual run for the money!
Fun, fun, those two had.

Feb 17: coffee date

Lindsay and I went to Caribou after Moms
and Tots to let the girls look for trains.
They had a great time together (as
usual) and ended up laughing on the floor!

Feb 16: generations

We stopped by Grandpa's place to visit
today.  It's always neat to see the
generations together.  Nora and Myles
both did wonderful while we were there.

Feb 15: peaches

I'm ready to try peaches!
I have a good feeling about this.

Feb 14: nothing says love like...

a chest freezer.
Happy Valentine's Day to me!
We finally had to break down and buy a chest
freezer.  A growing family = more mouths
to feed and not enough room to keep the food.
I'm already loving it.

Feb 13: out takes

I decided to include Nora's picture on her birthday thank you notes.  I wanted to 

get an authentic smile from her rather than her posed "chee" smile so I just kept 

snapping as I was acting silly.  I ended up with great shot and had a hard time deciding

which one to use.  But for today, I wanted to share a couple of the "out takes" that made me laugh.

Feb 12: glaze

We had Jeff, Katie, Greg, and Jess over for brunch this
morning.  I made a couple new recipes including this find
from pinterest, Lemon Blueberry Bread with a Lemon Glaze.

Feb 11: chicago institution

We went to Portillos for lunch today.
It was Nora's first time (of many to come,
I'm sure)  She thought her chicken strips
were ok but she LOVED Dad's strawberry
shake.  My chocolate shake came in second.

Feb 10: Concentration

I know this picture is on the family blog too but I just
love how that tongue comes out when she's concentrating
so hard.  Ah, the mind of a two year old.

Feb 9: head shot

Dan needed a new professional-
looking head shot for a couple things.
Mighty professional (and mighty
handsome, if I say so myself).

Feb 8: blast off

She can jump!! Both feet successfully
off the ground at the same time!

I know the picture doesn't exactly show
it but after numerous attempts at getting
an air born shot her little legs were
getting tired.  This was the best I
could get!

Feb 7: boob tube

Relaxing night watching The Voice.

Feb 6: wrestlers

I've realized I have to stop saying, "Gentle."
He doesn't mind when she does this
and he'll let her know if he does.

Feb 5: super bowl grub

Baked Chicken Wings (from the food network
magazine) with greek yogurt blue cheese dipping sauce.
So good Dan swore off BW3s forever (although we all
know it won't be forever)

Feb 4: rub-a-dub-dub

First time he sat in the mini tub instead of the infant seat.
Big guy.

Feb 3: american classic

Adult version of tomato soup and grilled cheese.

Grilled cheese on a baguette featuring pepper jack
cheese, apple slices, and bacon.
