October 31: trick-o-treat!

Papa's was the first house we
stopped at while trick-or-treating :)

October 30: sigh...

I gave Myles yogurt pretzels to eat on
the way home from a play date so he
wouldn't fall asleep and would actually
nap when we got home.

Can't help but laugh and say
next time, I'll choose a snack that doesn't
melt in his hands. 

October 29: boy in a box

Really, what toys are better than
boxes anyway? None.

October 28: dress rehearsal

Trying on Myles' Halloween costume before the
actual day.  He may look happy but he did not
care for that thing on this head. 

October 27: kick off

At the Wisconsin-Michigan State game.
Next time I layer up a little more.

October 26: five inches

Lately, Nora has been walking around
with the tape measure.  No matter what
she measures, it's five inches.  Now Myles
has begun measuring.

October 25: my loves

3 of the biggest loves of my life.
Happy to be back together.

October 24: the strip

I enjoyed Vegas much better this time
than last time.  I think the difference was
that this time was during the week so
far less people.  Walking down the strip was
leisurely rather than chaotic.  And good
thing I took a big giant walk to get to lunch
because I had a big giant burger.  And
sweet potato fries.  And a big giant milk
shake to accompany me on my big giant
walk back to the hotel.

October 23: palms

October 22: mandalay bay

Hung out at this pool.  All day.

October 21: vegas, baby!

I'm here and so begins my four days of rest
and relaxation with nothing else on my agenda
beyond eating and sitting poolside. 

October 20: time for a change

waiting for my color to be mixed)

... and after.
I wasn't liking my natural color anymore.
Not really blonde, not really brown.
So I decided to finally take the plunge and
color my hair to match my eyebrows.
I love it.

October 19: heart bursting

Myles was feeling very well so Nora
hopped onto the chair and asked if
he could sit on her lap.  

Snuggles and kisses from big sister
makes mommy's heart burst with love.

October 18: dipped spoons

Making chocolate dipped spoons for
St. Paul's Holiday Bizarre this coming weekend.

October 17: labs

At the hospital getting lab work done to
see if they can find a cause for the kidney
stones last month.

October 16: outside airplanes

This just might be my favorite picture of him to date.

October 15: pumpkin patch

We picked pumpkins straight from the field today.
Beautiful view as we took the wagon ride back.

October 14: finger painting

We usually paint with brushes and that's
how we started today.  But with bath time
lingering I undressed the kids and let
them at it with their hands.
Nora was apprehensive at first but once I
forced her hand in there and let her
know it was fine if she got dirty she
giggled the entire time she swirled her
hands around. 

October 13: football family

With two borderline sick kids, it was a
great day to cuddle up together and root
the  Badgers to another victory.

October 12: if the shoe {never} fits

I bought these cute shoes for Myles
while I was still pregnant (while I was still
fighting for his name to be Myles) at a
rummage sale.  Wouldn't you know
that the child's feet were too chubby to
shove into them.  So I passed them on to
Karen's son Ben in hopes that
he'll be able to rock the kicks better then
Mr. Myles.

October 11: raisins

My daughter just went through a small
package of raisins in less than a week.  I was
certain she was about to turn into a raisin
so I bought the big container at the store
this week.  Opened them to hear her say,
"Nonnie not like these kind."
Really?  Really?
You're killin' me, Smalls.

October 10: happy birthday, gram

What a treat - we celebrated Gram's birthday with a
visit from her! 

October 9: hi, papa!

The kids were watching Papa mow the
lawn while squealing, yelling "hi" and waving
each and every time he passed.
I couldn't ask for a better neighbor.   

October 8: unca jeff

Guess who we ran into at the grocery
store?!  You can't tell she's excited or
anything, can you?

October 7: make a wish

Today, we celebrated another year of life
with one of the greatest Grandpas around.

October 6: sleepy swinger

Swinging at Gram's house.  He actually feel asleep a
few minutes later and tipped over!

October 5: da vinci(s)

Nora AND Myles painted apples in church class
today.  Even though Myles technically isn't old enough
to attend the class yet (he needs to be 18 months), he
tries to do everything the older kids do.
There were extra papers to paint today so I let him at it.

October 4: fall delight

Mariano's tempts my sweet tooth all
fall long with their amazingly delicious
looking caramel apple creations. 

October 3: falling

This is my favorite tree in the park. It
looked beautiful on our walk today.
Gorgeous coloring and just the right amount
of leaves in a perfect circle around the
bottom of it. 

October 2: morning manicure

Painted her nails pink (her choice) during
Myles' nap. Girl time.

October 1: dinner

Southwest Stuffed Peppers -
super good and waaaay better than
normal stuffed peppers, in my
humble opinion.
