July 31: monkey see monkey do

He now goes down the slides by himself
but doesn't quite get all the way to the
bottom to slide off so, naturally, he turns
around and tries to climb back up.
He almost made it all the way up, too!

July 30: ready to go

Swimming time is done and so is Myles.
He's ready to go home for nap time.  

July 28: nap time

Ugh... cicada season.
They are SO loud.

July 27: dirty

I was playing in the garage as mommy
cleaned it out tonight. My hands are
proof I had a good time exploring.

July 26: little bro

Nora came into the kitchen today and
handed me this.  It's a picture of Greg
when he was in 8th grade.  No clue
where she got it.

July 25: birthday boy

Happy first birthday, little guy.

July 24: cheap

A far cry from the $2.39 I had to pay for
cilantro in Hartford.  I like our price better.

July 23: big girl bed

We got her new sheets and bedspread on her big girl
bed today.  She was all excited about it and told me she
wanted to sleep there for the night.  We even called
Daddy so he could see her in her big girl bed and say
prayers with us.  She was all for it... until it was actually
time to go to bed.  Then she said, "Nonnie sleep in
baby bed."

OK - so not quite ready yet.

July 22: every last drop

This girl looooves her ice cream -
or in this case, frozen yogurt from menchies.

July 21: our princess

All dressed up with no where to go.

July 20: staying warm

We replaced our furnace and
air conditioner today.  No more 90 degree
days... in our house.

July 19: letting him loose

I let him crawl up the jungle gym
by himself for the first time today. Of course,
he loved every minute of it.

July 18: birthday shirt

Myles' birthday shirt came in the mail today.
Soon he'll be ONE!!

July 17: pinterest project

Hot gluing river rocks onto a boot tray
to make it a bit more decorative. 

July 16: besties

Missy met Mal at the pool today.
We need to do this more often.

July 15: gramma gramma

Attended the Guenther Cousins Club picnic this year.
Gramma Gramma is taking a breather with two of her
great granddaughters, Mady and Nora.

July 13: swords

It's hard to see but Myles and Nora got
pinwheels after Myles' haircut.  They played
with them in the back seat the entire way home.
They'd stop and then Nora would yell,
"Minnow, play swords!" and they'd start
again, along with a lot of giggling.  

July 12: civil rights

It was amazing to me to be walking down
the same street that launched a national
drive for integrated lunch counters.
Even more amazing was that it only happened
in 1960! I even saw Woolworth Store.
Neat to see a piece of history of our country.

July 11: office visit

We got to visit Daddy at his office.
She even got to sit in his desk chair.
It was a big deal.

July 10: bear hug

The recipient of that bear hug
is Nolan.  Can you tell she liked him??
Time to leave Durham and head to
Greensboro, the last leg of our trip.

July 9: coy pond

Pretty pond at the Duke gardens.

July 8: tuckered

Nolan may have been stubborn to take a
nap on the way to the beach but he was
exhausted on the ride home.

July 7: first timer

On our way to the beach, I had my first
Chick-fil-a experience.  Kids menu is great -
you can get just one chicken wing... perfect.
I'll be going back!

July 6: buds

I tried and tried to get a picture of both of these cuties
in focus but they are nothing less than movers and
shakers.  It was impossible.  Nora and Nolan loved
playing with each other during our stay - especially chase.

July 5: cooper

Rusty Roo while on vacation.

July 4: last day here

Leaving the mountains today but
not before we check out the Forth of July
festival on Main Street.

If you know Nora, you know she has a thing for trains so
when we saw this old train car in downtown Bryson City
it was safe to say she was excited.  It was hard to get her
off that platform to continue walking.

July 1: broken

The first day at our cabin in the mountains
and the bottom of our coffee pot shattered.
Can't get us down... we brewed in a pot!
