August 31: perch

In the bathroom at the public library,
they have a little chair, waaaay up there,
for wee ones just like Mr. Myles to
sit in while mom or sister is busy
going potty.  They should have these
everywhere.  Genius. 

August 30: already?!

How are all the leaves falling off the
trees already?  Isn't it still too early
for that kind of stuff??

August 29: busted

I knew he was too quiet... I walked back
into the kitchen and saw him shoveling
in the pirate's booty.

August 28: kitchen ceiling

Now, Nora is at Grandma's and Grandpa's
while Myles is fast asleep upstairs so we being to paint
the fifth ceiling in four days.
Glad this is only a job you do once every 10 years.

August 27: proejct

Working on a project for Nora's big girl
room.  I'll be wrapping her name in ombre
fashion to hang on her wall.

August 26: jammin'

Just making some music with Dad. 

August 25: car show

Every Saturday night during the summer months there's
an old car show in the commuter lot of Mt. Prospect.
After living here for four years, we finally checked it out
tonight with the kids. 

August 24: top off

Finally got the top off the Jeep which made for
one happy husband. 

August 23: ceilings

Sent the kids to Gram's for a couple days
so we could scrape, prime, and paint
the ceilings upstairs.  

And consequently, this is how my arms
looked like after the first ceiling.

August 21: cup o' joe

Curious about my coffee this morning.

August 20: trucks

He watched the bobcat move all around
the parking lot at the park today.  The
fascination with trucks starts early.

August 19: remote

He holds the remote for the car he got
for his birthday.  Doesn't know what
to do with it but like any guy, knows
he wants to hold the remote.  #typical

Had a flashback to childhood when I made
Jiffy Pop tonight. 

August 14: zoo

Utilized our family pass to the Brookfield
Zoo with Karen, Claire, and Ben today.
All Nora talked about this time was seeing
the giraffes.

August 13: double take

Bought another replacement Leonard today just
in case we lose one again.  I know original Leonard
is dirty right now but it's crazy just how loved he
looks next to new Leonard. 

August 12: lenny

This weekend Myles' lovie, Leonard, was
lost during a trip to the park.  Luckily, it
was the second Leonard I bought just in
case because I had a feeling we were going
to lose him... my sixth sense was spot on.
He was reunited with original Leonard
when we got home today and he didn't
let go for quite a while.

August 11: you fit nicely here

This is Dan's cousin Karen's six-week-old
son Ben.  He's meeting his Great Grandpa
for the first time.  Great Grandpa kept
saying, "you fit nicely here".

August 10: girly room

As a baby, Nora had a very unisex room so I've always had
it in my head that I wanted to make her room a little more
girly when we took the crib down.  With this bright pink
accent wall, I think we're well on our way!  

August 9: on wisconsin

Our first ever stack of Wisconsin Badger Football
season tickets.  Go Bucky!!

August 8: picnic lunch

Perfect day for a picnic lunch.
These two just make me, and each other, laugh.

August 6: mini mama

You can always tell what Myles has been
doing lately by looking at what this mini
mama does with her baby.  Her baby is
still too small to walk so she, of course,
helps her walk... just like I used to do with Myles.

August 7: the garden giveth

I just picked and entire strainer
worth of tomatoes from our garden.
Myles ate almost an entire tomato that he
picked himself while I filled my bowl.
I plan on making a gazpacho to go with
our tomato, basil, and mozzarella paninis
for Thursday night.

August 5: state fair

The kids experienced all things Wisconsin State Fair
today.  Flavored milk, giant slide and all.

August 4: baby bump

That's Baby Irish #3 in there!
Due 12.12.12.  How cool is that?!

August 3: humble abode

The family visited the new home owners tonight.
Congratulation, Jeff and Katie.  The house is beautiful.

August 1: swimmers

Today, we went into the city to meet up with three other
ladies I worked with my first two years of teaching.  When
we started, no one had kids.  Now, there's six kids between
the four of us.  This is the first time we've all met each
other's children.  I wish I would have thought to try to get
a picture of all six of them together.  Sadly, this was the
only picture I got of any of them today.
